[Comment] Oral JAK inhibitors for vitiligo: a new era of innovation

Abstract

Non-segmental vitiligo, a chronic immune-mediated depigmenting skin condition affecting millions of individuals worldwide, has long occupied a paradoxical position within dermatology.1 Despite its considerable impact on patients’ wellbeing and quality of life, it has historically been trivialised as merely a cosmetic condition.2 For many patients, particularly those with darker skin tones, vitiligo remains not only highly visible but deeply stigmatising, with consequences extending into social and professional life.
